AAAS 2008 Annual Meeting News Blog

Blogs and podcast cover meeting updates

Findings, the Science magazine news blog, has launched its coverage of the AAAS annual meeting. You'll find breaking news, news from the meeting and fun facts posted several times a day during the meeting, the editors say. The first post shares observations from AAAS President David Baltimore's breakfast with science reporters earlier today, where he shared his experiences on a recent trip to India--and saw how one of his own scientific papers was in production for publication in a journal. It's followed by five things you didn't know about James Hansen, winner of the AAAS Award for Scientific Freedom and Responsibility.

At Science Update, the AAAS science radio program, Bob Hirshon reports in a podcast today about "spiderwoman" and biologist Greta Binford, who talks about how spiders find safety in sand.  You can read transcripts, listen online or download the podcasts, which also will be posted throughout the meeting.
